Ch-ch-changes!

There are some changes coming for my blog over the next couple of weeks, which is really exciting! I’ve been thinking about and planning on having a major update for a little while, and now thanks to my very good friend Dan at Baltic Design, it is actually going to happen 😊 So there won’t really be much in the way of new posts until my new site goes live (at some point soon – we’re still working on it!), but it will be worth the wait. Promise! I feel like the direction of my blog is going somewhere I never imagined it would, so my blog will have a new look and a new name when it relaunches! I’m keeping that a secret for now…so you’ll have to wait and see… In the meantime, I hope you enjoy looking through the archives of my blog as it is now. See you soon on my new and improved blog!

I’m so SO excited to be starting Project Life this month – today, in fact! πŸ™‚ Project Life has taken the scrapbooking world by storm (just in case you’ve never heard of it) and having admired the kits and bits and bobs that you can get for so long, I’m taking the plunge and starting my first scrapbooking adventure.

I bought this top a few years ago – I immediately fell in love with the gorgeous floral pattern! I know it looks like a dress, but it really is far too short for that…! Anyway, more recently it hasn’t fit on the top half, but I was convinced that if I had the courage to do it, the bottom half would fit if I turned it into a skirt. After such a long time of wondering about it (and some inspiration from Dawn O’Porter’s tv programme, ‘This Old Thing’) I decided to give it a go. Continue reading…

Simple midweek tapas

20140722-203232-73952076.jpg

I love tapas, and whilst this isn’t the most authentic version, it can be made on a weeknight in 45 minutes to an hour – hooray! We used a couple of different recipes here and I made the other one up based on a dish we had on a night out. So this little selection is made up of garlic mushrooms, patatas bravas and a chorizo and egg dish (that’s the one I made up and can’t remember what it’s called!). Continue reading…

Pyjama trousers

I’ve got completely hooked on sewing clothes recently, and have done so much sewing! I feel like I’m really getting to know my machine better and I absolutely love it. I got this super fabric a little while ago to make some pyjama trousers, but I got a bit distracted by other projects before getting around to making them! Even though I’ve learnt lots of new techniques, this project is a really simple, back to basics make – if you’re a beginner looking to start making clothes then this is a great project.
