This month involved a lot of crafting and enjoying our garden, which has given us the most wonderful blooms this year! I hope you enjoy my Instagram gallery for July!
Winter has arrived! At work yesterday we spent most of the day looking out of the window, and the snowflakes were huge! It made Newcastle city centre look very beautiful, and lots of my students were very excited – I work with international students and some of them had never seen snow before! For many, it was a bit of a nightmare getting home though. As usual in Britain, we don’t seem to cope very well with a bit of snow! So take care if you’re out and about in snowy weather today.
This is a picture of our back garden this morning, with its lovely untouched snow. If you look carefully, you might be able to spot Hadrian with his snowy hat – thank goodness for his scarf!
I love cold and sunny winter mornings when everything is covered in frost. It always looks so beautiful! Now is the time of year when I only really get to appreciate my garden at the weekend when we’re not going anywhere, because during the week it’s dark when we go to work and dark when we come home. This year was a write-off when it comes to the garden – it rained so much this summer that I spent most of my time looking out of the window at the rain and wondering if it would ever stop!
