Mini kiwis

When we got home from work this evening, we spent some time in the garden. We haven’t done this for such a long time, so it was really nice to get a few things done and be outside after being cooped up in the office all day! The main reason for going out there was that we needed to plant our mini kiwis. Yes, you heard right – we planted mini kiwis in the north of England! They actually come from Siberia so can cope with low temperatures, so we should be ok here.

It will be about a year in September until we see some fruit, but apparently they can produce up to 400 fruits a year on a single plant! So I’ve got plenty of time to find some recipes…we have two plants (a male and a female) so we should have enough to go around! We made some supports with some willow that we cut down last year and left to dry out in our garage. I love

If you’d like to find out more about these weird and wonderful mini kiwis, James Wong has written an excellent blog post about them.
