A winter wonderland

Winter has arrived! At work yesterday we spent most of the day looking out of the window, and the snowflakes were huge! It made Newcastle city centre look very beautiful, and lots of my students were very excited – I work with international students and some of them had never seen snow before! For many, it was a bit of a nightmare getting home though. As usual in Britain, we don’t seem to cope very well with a bit of snow! So take care if you’re out and about in snowy weather today.

This is a picture of our back garden this morning, with its lovely untouched snow. If you look carefully, you might be able to spot Hadrian with his snowy hat – thank goodness for his scarf!

  1. Of late I’ve been feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the horrendously bad things spread across the news but a fresh white layer of snow sprinkled across the garden is one of those moments that makes you think what a beautiful world we live in!

    • I know exactly what you mean – I’m just sitting and eating breakfast, watching a cheeky robin playing in the garden πŸ™‚ I want to get a photo but he’s just too quick! Hope you have a wonderful day!
